Wheels Day at the Cottage

Friday May 10^th, we celebrated our first official bike/scooter day at the centre. Our pre kindy and kindy rooms were invited to bring their scooter or bike in from home along with their helmets and any protective gear. How exciting to get out of our rooms and explore the different parts of our service. Ther children walked with excitement down to our garage and were so amazed seeing the set up of road signs and tyres all set up to whizz our way through one side of the garage to the other. 

We had Josh one of our dad’s talk to the children about road safety, safety around cars and how to safely ride our bikes and scooters on the road or sidewalks. Once the safety talk was done, we were ready to ROLL. Our service manager Miss Kathryn was the first off, the line demonstrating how we follow the arrows around the obstacle. 

Off we all went riding back and forth, side to side and sometimes back the opposite way, while we had our parent helpers guide and direct us through the garage. What a fabulous way to kickstart this fun and active day together. We can’t wait for our next wheelie adventure.
