National Families Week Afternoon Tea at Story House Tarneit

National Families Week is celebrated here in Australia from 15th – 21st of May and coincides with the United Nations International Day of Families on May 15. The aim of National Families Week is to celebrate the vital role the families play in Australian society and this year’s theme was ‘Stronger Families, Stronger Communities’. (nfw.org.au)

On Wednesday 19th May here at Story House Early Learning Tarneit we celebrated National Families Week by hosting an afternoon tea for our current families and also our community.
During this afternoon our families were able to spend some time with their children and other families as well as help us welcome some of our new families to the service.

It was a great way to welcome new families to our Story House Family and allow them the opportunity to get to know our service and educators. The families enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea spread care of our cooks and had the opportunity to have some meaningful conversations with their children’s educators.

Overall, the National Families Week theme is to “highlight the important role families play as the central building block of our communities and deliver the message that community wellbeing is enhanced by family wellbeing” (nfw.org.au)
