Meet Our Service Manager Katie Allsopp

What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
Ever since I was really little I wanted to be a teacher. I was the eldest of 5 girls so I was always in a nurturing and caring for my siblings. I used to play “teacher” a lot, perhaps I just liked bossing everyone around! I also have a passion for caring for children and their families and love to help everyone.

What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
I have been really proud of the way our educators, children and families have come together over the past few months. Although we are going through a pretty hard time with changing and challenging circumstances, the one thing that has remained constant has been the demonstration of love, care and respect for one another.

Who inspires you and why?
My mum, she is one of the most hard-working, caring and compassionate people I know.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about the learning and development of children. Their infinite potential is very exciting and I enjoy fostering this every single day.

What type of leadership style do you have?
I lead by example and with empathy and open communication.

What makes your service such an amazing service?
Our service has such an amazing community of children, families and educators. We all work together to support each other. You can feel the warmth when you walk into our centre.

What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
I hope to continue to build our wonderful community, encourage professional development to inform our practice and make the centre a really special place for our children, families and educators.
