We partner with you to provide a safe, quality, family-centred learning environment where every child is respected and nurtured. We continually develop our skills and explore new ways to enrich your child’s early learning experience.
Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of our program. Educators plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for your child in both structured and spontaneous play.
Our programs are inspired by the wisdom and teachings of early childhood theorists and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and aim to develop children’s emotional, social and cognitive intelligence.
The Pre-school curriculum continues to emphasise play based learning, however offers additional intentional learning times where the focus is on literacy and numeracy, socialisation, self-regulation and independence.
What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I have have always had a passion for working with children. I love watching them grow and learn through implementing experiences that help the children to reach their learning and developmental goals.
What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
Stepping up to the role of service manager over the past three months, I have made many memories the team and children. We recently underwent our assessment and rating process. Watching the team work together in order for us to achieve a rating of “meeting” was very inspiring to be a part of.
Who inspires you and why?
The Story House team has really inspired me. I have gained so much support and knowledge form support office, the team, families and the children. They inspire me to learn and grow and to bring Story House Alexandria to the best possible standard.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about the children and their environments. I love creating environments that allow the children to choose their own learning through play based learning experiences.
What type of leadership style do you have?
My style of leadership is role modeling by stepping into the classroom with the educators and leading by example.
What makes your service such an amazing service?
The community within the service makes Story House Alexandria an amazing place to work. From stepping in the door in the morning until the evening you can feel the warmth, love and passion coming from the educators, families and children.
What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
My main goal for our service over the next 12 months is to bring the service to the next level. This will be broken down into smaller goals such as; working hard to gain more knowledge in the service manager role, team building exercises and training for educators to ensure a strong team and building on community involvement and welcoming more new families to our service.
