Story House Early Learning Mt Waverley

Hi, my name is Trudy, I’d like to introduce myself and let you know a little more about me. My career began in the early years sector when l left high school over 25yrs ago. I started as an unqualified educator and then when l found my passion to move forward, completed my certificate 3 and then moving on to do my diploma on the weekends. Having a very fulfilling career in the early years sector and working in different roles throughout my career I found my happy place. l have tried other careers but my passion for the early years sector keeps me coming back.

I know the reason for coming back is because of the children, families and educators, there is never a dull moment. Every day is a new start and l love the fact that no matter what kind of day you’re having, before you walk into the building, smiles from the children can make your day be filled with love and kindness. That’s what makes me come back to early years every day knowing my job makes my heart full and to me that’s the reason l smile every day, wanting to come to work.

I believe all children deserve the very best educators we can be, respect, kindness and love. I believe when children walk through the door they deserve the best day they can have at our service. This year l will be celebrating 3 years with Story House and l can honestly say l have never been happier within a company who are supportive, encouraging and respectful of all their educators. I started at Story House Mt Waverley in December 2022 for a short period of time, but for some reason Mt Waverley left a mark on my heart and when l was offered to come back as the Service Manager l just couldn’t say no. I feel l found my dream job with amazing families , children and educators to walk my journey with at Mt Waverley.

On a personal note, l am the crazy animal lady with many paws that l call my children. At home l have my amazing partner Wayne that supports my long working days and we have 3 puppies, 6 cats and 2 rabbits. Most of my paws are adopted because they homeless and have issues such as being blind or one eyed as every paw deserved a happy place to call home. I am so looking forward to my story unfolding and may this chapter be long, happy and an exciting one with Story House Mt Waverley.
