At Offspring Early Learning Centre in Chinderah we understand the importance of child-educator relationships. Our goal is to provide an excellent level of care to our children by working with parents, providing a loving home-like environment
Located in a great area with strong connections to the community. This is an opportunity for your child to develop within spaces in which they can feel safe and continue on their learning journey.
We partner with you to provide a safe, quality, family-centred learning environment where every child is respected and nurtured. We continually develop our skills and explore new ways to enrich your child’s early learning experience.
Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of our program. Educators plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for your child in both structured and spontaneous play.
Our programs are inspired by the wisdom and teachings of early childhood theorists and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and aim to develop children’s emotional, social and cognitive intelligence.
The Kindergarten curriculum continues to emphasise play based learning, however offers additional intentional learning times where the focus is on literacy and numeracy, socialisation, self-regulation and independence.
What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I’ve worked with children from a very young age in childcare, to nannying overseas and for the last 4 years managing a service. I love supporting families to educate their children, it’s extremely rewarding.
Who Inspires you and why?
Daily at work it’s our educators, families and children but I gain ongoing knowledge and inspiration through pod casts, workshops and conferences. At the moment I’vs been listening to Educator Yarns with Jessica Staines (the director of Koori Curriculum) this is a really great way to understand the inclusion of Indigenous Perspectives in Education.
What are you passionate about?
Inclusive practice – allowing each child, family and educator the opportunity to be heard and involved.
What type of leadership style do you have?
Kindness gets you everywhere! Simply understanding and listening to the needs of others, always being open to feedback and critically reflect on my own practices as an educator and leader. Empowering the team to be the best they can be and offering support and strategies to help them achieve their goals.
What makes your service such an amazing service?
The love and care the team show towards our children and families makes this a fun, cohesive and passionate environment to work in.
What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
To maintain a happy learning environment for our children and a supportive learning environment for our educators.
