Today, we’re sharing one of these family favourites straight from Chef Noel’s kitchen, their much-loved Spaghetti Bolognese recipe. Packed with nutrients and hidden veg, this one’s a hit at lunchtime and perfect for the whole family to recreate at home.
Chef Noel’s Spaghetti Bolognese
Ingredients
- 1 TBS Vegetable Oil
- 700g Beef Mince
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 Diced Onion
- 1TBS Crushed Garlic or 4 Cloves
- 2 TBS Tomato Paste
- 2 Grated Carrots
- 400g Tin tomato’s or 5/6 Tomato’s finely chopped
- 1TBS Dried oregano
- 2 Bay leaves
- 50g Butter
- 1 Packet of Spaghetti
Method
- Put frying pan or pot on high heat
- Add oil, make sure bottom of pan or pot is covered, add mince and salt and pepper.
- Cook mince for about 5 Minutes until brown and the liquid has evaporated.
- Add onion and cook for a couple of minutes
- Add garlic and tomato paste stir and cover meat
- When tomato paste starts sticking to the bottom of the pot or meat is reddish in colour add carrot, zucchini and diced tomato.
- Add oregano, bay leaves and butter.
- Put lid on and let simmer for around 20 to 30 minutes
- While cooking get spaghetti and cook as per instructions on the packet.
- Once spaghetti is ready drain and serve with Bolognese sauce.
