Our Kindergarten Program
Children Have A Sense Of Belonging From Their First Day!
At Early Learning Centre Mernda we have an integrated Kindergarten Program within our Long Day Care setting. What this means is, families have the flexibility of our 6.30am – 6.30pm operational hours, however through the core hours of the day our Kindergarten Teacher will provide a Kindergarten program 5 days a week.
Our qualified Kindergarten teacher has a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. We also have additional assisting educators within the classroom who hold a Diploma of Children Services and a Certificate III in Children Services. Our Kindergarten program provides a play based curriculum with intentional teaching strategies to prepare the children for the following year of formalised schooling.
In Partnership With Local Schools
Watch our children Grow, Learn And Play!
Over the years we have established strong partnerships with the local schools enabling us to gather expectations for school entry, assisting with our comprehensive transition to school program. We schedule in school orientation visits during Term 4 to ensure all children have a sense of belonging from their first day of Prep.
Our Kindergarten children often venture out on excursions in to our local community, as well as the wider community (depending on their project focus). These excursions assist the children to gain an understanding of their role within the local and wider community, and of course see what our beautiful shire of Whittlesea and Melbourne city have to offer.
