Bligh Park’s Favourite Meal: Hungarian Goulash

With a deep passion for creating child-friendly meals packed with goodness, Chef Sarita and Chef Tess have perfected dishes that our little learners genuinely look forward to. Curious what’s on the menu?

Today, we’re sharing one of these family favourites straight from Chef Sarita and Chef Tess’s kitchen, their much-loved Hungarian Goulash recipe. Packed with nutrients and protein, this one’s a hit at lunchtime and perfect for the whole family to recreate at home.


Chef Sarita & Chef Tess’s Hungarian Goulash

Ingredients

  • 500g Shell Pasta
  • 500g Beef Strips
  • 250g Sour Cream
  • 2 x Tomatoes (diced)
  • 1 x Onion (diced)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 TS tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp Hungarian paprika
  • 250ml Beef stock
  • Optional:
  • Add any veggies you like some popular choices are carrots, potatoes, red pepper, and capsicum.

Method

  1. Brown the onions (and this would be a great time to soften any veggies you may have added like red pepper, or capsicum)
  2. Sear the beef strips, while you sauté the onions, adding your garlic, paprika, and any other seasonings you choose.
  3. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker and high for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low.
  4. Plate and enjoy!
