Located in a great area with strong connections to the community. This is an opportunity for your child to develop within spaces in which they can feel safe and continue on their learning journey.
We believe that the value of play is of utmost importance to children as it is their way of learning about their world. While children play they are able to experiement with new ideas, test theories and their understanding of concepts, express their creative ability, release their emotions and share their feelings. While engaging in play children are developing across all domains and creating the building blocks for their future.
Our Fiafia Cottage is a homely, nurturing environment. Each baby and toddler has their own individual routine and are loved, cuddled, stimulated and nurtured throughout the whole day.
Our Aroha Cottage provides a warm and caring environment focusing on trust and well-being. We focus on building positive relationships and friendships, language, independence, and negotiation techniques.
Our Amaroo Cottage has two age groups. We promote the social, intellectual, and physical growth of each child. We strive to create an environment that enhances a child’s self-image, self-direction, and self motivation.
What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I have a real passion for children in their early years and strongly believe in the importance of developing a love of learning in children. Their first 1000 days are so important and how lucky am I to be able to say I was apart of that.
What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
Our First Annual Christmas Concert- this was such a highlight to see the children jump on stage and really enjoy showcasing their hard work. It was also so lovely to see our wonderful parents sing along with them.
What are you passionate about?
I am really passionate about sharing building a strong sense of value in our children. I want them to be confident in who they are and be proud of what makes them special.
What type of leadership style do you have?
I believe I lead with my heart first and foremost. I also believe that collaboration is key. I love to ask feedback and seek ideas from the team and parents when making decisions.
What makes your service such an amazing service?
The Team! Our team of Educators here at The Cottage are one in a million! We share such joy through out our days and I value each and everyone of them.
What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
Our goal for The Cottage for this year is to become a service of choice in our local community. We want families to join us here based on recommendations from other families and for our name The Cottage to be known in the community
