My name is Katrina Nicholls and I have been working within the Early Learning sector for over 15 years.

My experience comes from time within an Area Managers position for over 4 years as well as extensive experience as a Service Manager & centre educator. My passion is to ensure all staff who I work alongside are mentored and nurtured to become the most successful and sought-after professionals within the industry. My belief is that if you nurture your staff with knowledge and success they will therefore then nurture the children to become emotionally well rounded and highly educated individuals.

I will work hard to ensure Story House Windsor is the most sought after Early Learning centre in Brisbane encompassing a team of highly educated and experienced individuals who all bring their own unique skills and abilities of successful education for children.

We believe that the value of play is of utmost importance to children as it is their way of learning about their world.  While children play they are able to experiement with new ideas, test theories and their understanding of concepts, express their creative ability, release their emotions and share their feelings.  While engaging in play children are developing across all domains and creating the building blocks for their future.

We partner with you to provide a safe, quality, family-centred learning environment where every child is respected and nurtured. We continually develop our skills and explore new ways to enrich your child’s early learning experience.

Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of our program. Educators plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for your child in both structured and spontaneous play.

Our programs are inspired by the wisdom and teachings of early childhood theorists and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and aim to develop children’s emotional, social and cognitive intelligence.

The Kindergarten curriculum continues to emphasise play based learning, however offers additional intentional learning times where the focus is on literacy and numeracy, socialisation, self-regulation and independence.

Dear Katrina and all the beautiful Carers at Story House Early Learning Windsor, It has taken me a long time to write this email, but I thought it was very important to do so. My two boys Harry and Charlie got to spend two weeks on casual days at your lovely new centre in early December 2018. I was really impressed with how welcoming and caring you were about their likes/dislikes and routines, even though they were only there for a short time. The boys both enjoyed coming to school each day, and always seemed happy to be there. Harry has asked to go back to your 'school' a couple of times since - so I know it made a lasting positive impression. Thanks again for accepting us for casual days, and for your time and care of Harry and Charlie. I'm sure once word gets around this will become a very popular little childcare centre.
