What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I have always gravitated towards working with children whether it be engaging with younger family members at social gatherings or always lending a helping hand to baby sit. This led me to studying and starting my career with the Early Childhood Education and Care sector and I have never looked back.

What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
Welcoming my beautiful daughter to the world and introducing her to the Roma Street and Story House Early Learning family. Being able to work alongside my daughter as well as the amazing children and educators everyday is really quite special. It is very heart warming to know that I am supported not only in my role as Service Manager but also my role as a parent.

Who Inspires you and why?
The children inspire everything and anything I do. The children are the reason that I have studied and worked hard to progress my career through the Early Education Child Care sector. I feel very privileged to be able to be apart of each child’s individual journey. I can say whole-heartedly that I have found my dream job and love coming to work every day.

What are you passionate about?
My true passion lies within working with Educators and mentoring them around their programming and practices. I enjoy being able to inspire the Educators I work with to provide high quality experiences and documentation for the children and families.

What type of leadership style do you have?
I believe in a collaborative approach when it comes to Governance and Leadership. I believe in the statement ‘It takes a village to raise a child’. To achieve this I ensure that the Educators, Families and Children all feel supported to be able to make decisions in regards to the service. I value this feedback and feel this helps with the success of the service.

What makes your service such an amazing service?
Our service is very unique in the fact that we are only a 40 place service at full occupancy. This makes it easier to form very personal relationships between all of the educators, children and families.

What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
I am striving to build our occupancy so more families can come and enjoy the intimate care we provide at Roma Street (Brisbane City).

A Queensland Government Kindergarten Approved Program

Our centre welcomes families from surrounding suburbs including Paddington, Spring Hill, Teneriffe and South Brisbane. We offer a small boutique service right in the heart of the Brisbane CBD.

Our aim is to provide a secure and happy environment where children can develop their intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and language skills to become competent and confident individuals. And for you to feel safe knowing that your child is receiving the best possible care.
