Kew Service Manager Emma

Emma, Our Service Manager

Emma is the Service Manager at Story House Early Learning Kew and brings over 13 years of experience in the early childhood sector. She holds a Diploma of Early Childhood and is currently completing her Bachelor of Early Childhood. Her career has included roles as Room Leader, Kindergarten Teacher, Educational Leader, and 2IC.

Emma joined Kew in December 2022, having transferred from Story House Forest Hill. She is passionate about supporting children in developing a love for learning and building lifelong skills in a nurturing and engaging environment.

As a leader, Emma is committed to fostering a positive team culture and delivering creative, play based educational programs that inspire curiosity and joy. She values strong connections with children, families, and educators, and is often found actively engaging in the rooms. Always approachable, Emma welcomes every opportunity to connect with families and support their journey in early education.

Just like any quality restaurant kitchen, ours is fully equipped and run to the highest standards with our chefs holding up-to-date food safety certifications to ensure every meal is prepared with care and compliance. All meals are thoughtfully planned to align with Australian nutrition guidelines, ensuring every bite supports healthy growth and development. Our skilled chef Brian lead interactive cooking classes tailored to each age group, encouraging children to discover new flavours and learn new skills. Children enjoy a variety of foods while gaining confidence in the kitchen. Popular dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese , Mild Fish Curry with rice and Chicken Tacos are amongst the children’s favourites, making each class a delicious adventure! As part of our commitment to fostering healthy habits and a love for fresh food, all Story House services have introduced the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program (SAKGP). This hands-on initiative connects children with growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing fresh, seasonal food. With 22 years of experience in the childcare industry, she enjoys the way the field continuously evolves, ensuring no two days are ever the same. Outside of work, Peta loves face painting, cooking, and heading out on day trips.

Mallika

Graduate diploma in Early Childhood Teaching
Mallika holds a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood and has been working in the industry for six months. She enjoys being around children and playing a part in their growth and development, finding it especially rewarding to witness milestones such as hearing their first words. Outside of work, Mallika enjoys cooking and spending time with friends.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education
Shwetha holds a Diploma in Early Childhood and has four years of industry experience. She enjoys building strong attachments with children and their families, fostering trust and connection in her care. Outside of work, Shwetha loves gardening with her children.

Essential Parent Information

No Bond or Enrolment Fee – Just Two Weeks' Fees in Advance

Story House Early Learning does not require families to pay a bond or enrolment fee when enrolling your child, however there is a requirement for childcare fees to remain two weeks in advance at all times.

Our service offers a curriculum inspired by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), tailored to each age group. Programs include nature-based experiences, art activities, STEAM and a school readiness curriculum.

Families consistently praise our service for our nurturing environment, dedicated staff, and high quality care.

Story House Early Learning’s daily fee includes meals, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, learning programs, extracurricular activities, digital updates, and supportive care essentials. Everything is designed to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for your child’s growth.

What incursions or excursions occur?

Weekly outdoor program, weekly nature play program, visits to local schools, cafes, nurseries, and parks, plus nursery home visits with a music program.

Tours are between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Please call for tour outside of these hours.

We use the Storypark app as our primary communication tool, providing families with real-time updates on their child’s day, learning journey, and development. Through the app, families can receive photos, videos, and observations from educators, stay informed about upcoming events, and engage in two-way communication at any time. Rest Easy, Sleep Safe — The Story House Way

Safe Sleep

Story House Early Learning prioritises children’s well-being ensuring each child’s comfort and safety during rest times. Educators are trained to implement safe sleep practices, adhering to guidelines from Red Nose Australia and the National Quality Standards. 

Our policy emphasises individual sleep needs, providing appropriate opportunities for rest and relaxation in a secure environment. By maintaining consistent routines and environments, Story House supports healthy sleep habits, fostering a nurturing atmosphere conducive to each child’s development.

Additionally, through the Sleep Smart program, educators receive expert guidance to enhance sleep practices, further ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.
