We’ve been in contact with Brad Copelin, who is a former soldier and Afghanistan veteran. For the last three years Brad has been involved in sending care packages to Australian troops deployed overseas on operations. Each year, he reaches out to the local community, which includes Early Learning Centre’s, schools and other community groups.
We thought for this ANZAC Day, we’d show our support by sending a few care packages from all of us here at Story House Early Learning Black Rock.
During the week, we organised some beautiful artwork created by the children, kind letters, happy photos and our Kinder children were excited to contribute by walking to our local milk bar to purchase some yummy, and well missed Aussie treats, for our troops.
Small gestures like this really do go a long way, which is why we absolutely love exposing children to these types of community involvement and encouraging their awareness and participating.
