What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I always wanted to help people develop professionally and become successful innovators within the early learning sector.

Who Inspires you and why?
Children inspire me every day, they are so adaptable and open to change. They are hungry for knowledge and eagerly await learning with an open mind and heart. They love and nurture without prejudice and have an unbiased approach to life without even knowing it. What amazing little people!!!
What are you passionate about?
My passion is to ensure all staff who I work alongside are mentored and nurtured to become the most successful and sought-after professionals within the industry. My belief is that if you nurture your staff with knowledge and success, they will therefore then nurture the children to become emotionally well rounded and highly educated individuals.
What type of leadership style do you have?
I focus on identifying and nurturing the individual strengths of each member on my team. I also focus on strategies that will enable my team work better together. I strive to put more emphasis on the growth and success of individual employees, rather than forcing all employees to focus on similar skills and goals, I focus on building a team where each employee has an expertise or skill set in something different. In the long run, I focus on creating a strong team that can communicate well and embrace each other’s unique skill sets in order to support children’s development.
What makes your service such an amazing service?
Staff are given opportunities to grow and develop professionally and personally. They are supported to implement innovative ideas and strategies within the learning environments and are given opportunities to have an input on how the operation of the service is maintained.
What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
Building utilisation to 100%. Implementing some amazing excursion for the children into the community. Building the reputation of the service within Brisbane.
Story House is excited to offer a 12-month Certificate III Early Education traineeship. Your traineeship will see you learn on the job whilst being mentored and supported by Story House’s nominated training college. At completion of your traineeship you will have achieved a nationally accredited qualification enabling you to work in Long Day Care and Preschool centres.
