What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
In my senior years of high school, when trying to decide on a career path, my highest priority was the ability to make a difference for others. After some research, I figured the best opportunity to do this, was to give children a solid foundation in preparation for their years ahead. So Early childhood it was!!
What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
Providing my team with a small gift of appreciation for their hard work, to which they responded with more gratitude and appreciation than I thought possible.
Who Inspires you and why?
The families and parents of the children within my service. We are lucky enough to witness on a daily basis, the immense love and support these families have for their children 24 hours a day. They do an absolutely amazing job!
What are you passionate about?
Health and well-being. For the children, families and our educators. I am incredibly passionate about the mental and physical wellbeing of all. Whether it be from healthy eating and physical activity, to emotional regulation and mindfulness.
What type of leadership style do you have?
I have a very democratic leadership style. Firm but fair. I believe in collaborating with my team to ensure input from all parties, and taking this into consideration before making the decisions to best suit the children, families and service.
What makes your service such an amazing service?
I like to have fun! We spend such a large portion of our lives at our workplace. Why not make it a fun and enjoyable time.. after all, we get to spend our time educating and caring for children who know exactly how to have fun!
What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
Build a sense of belonging and family within the service. Create a bright new energy within the team and centre. Increase our bookings and build upon our centre families. Collaborate with children, families and educators on the needs of the service and our plans moving forward. Have an absolute blast doing all of the above!
