MEET OUR SERVICE MANAGER TANYA RICHARDSON

What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
A career in Early Childhood Education and Care has always been a dream since I was a little girl. Influencing and shaping the lives of young children and their families is a dream that I still live everyday. Early childhood equips children with skills and capacity to be effective and engaged learners through to school and beyond and I am privilege to be part of this journey.

What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
Seeing joy on the faces of children and their families.

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about providing secure reciprocal relationships in an environment that provides opportunity for children to become socially competent through building friendships and secure relationships.

Who Inspires you and why?
Dr Suess – he has the ability to inspire you in a fun learning way, His ability to use language to share a message, educate and change the world through his tales. He has taught children to read through cartoons and uses his stories to bridge the gap between adults and children, writing books that children and their parents wanted to read, and still do. “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So… get on your way!”

What type of leadership style do you have?
I believe my leadership style is multifaceted I like to influence inspiration, coach, mentor and role model, building a team where we accomplish goals and motivate each other.

What makes your service such an amazing service?
We keep growing and challenging ourselves as a community working together in a company that supports creativity and craziness.

What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
Making a difference in the eyes of a child…

FLOAT LEAD EDUCATOR

The Role:

Due to expansion, we are looking for a highly skilled Lead Educator to join our Oak on Service team as a FLOAT educator. We are looking for an Educator who aligns with our philosophies and is not only able to provide engaging programs for the children, but they have the drive to make this the best service in the community, while also being caring, empathetic, passionate and respectful. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic team and grow your career. 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the learning experiences for your allocated group of children
  • Be part of a collaborative teaching environment
  • Maintain effective communication with the parents throughout the service
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs
  • Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all team members
  • Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times

Who we’re looking for:

  • Hold a Diploma in Children’s Services
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • A strong understanding of Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Dedication to developing the future of children and passion for expanding on children’s interests
  • The enthusiasm to be proactive in implementing curriculum
  • A friendly and energetic demeanour

We’re situated in the emerging west Toowoomba suburb of Glenvale. A short drive from Glenvale State School and Darling Downs Christian School.

  • Opening Hours: 6am-6pm
  • 5 Rooms
  • Incursions include Making Rainbows & Spanish Lessons, Emergency Service visits, Henny Penny, Shows & Special Guests
  • Onsite Parking

  • Vegetable garden area with multiple gardens and fruit trees & local horses
  • A parent room that will be used for parent sessions
  • Playgroups and pop up shops
