What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I started in the Early Years sector as an Educator whilst I was studying my Montessori Diploma. I moved into a Lead Educator role and then made the decision to further my studies and went to University to do my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Studies. I worked in a number of different settings whilst I was at University, paying particular attention to working with vulnerable children. After a number of years an opportunity came up for me to immigrate from the UK to Australia to manage a centre in the community of Warwick and the rest is history!
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about providing children with childhoods that are full of wonderful memories and strong relationships and attachments that allow children to feel safe and confident to explore their environment to the full.
Who Inspires you and why?
My own children inspire me to be my best every day.
What type of leadership style do you have?
I have a collaborative leadership style and believe through collaboration, reflection and relevant contexts we can provide a rewarding career and excellent service delivery for children, families and community.
What makes your service such an amazing service?
The environment that we work in is beautiful, well maintained and looked after with pride. The team and families respond well to this and there is a feeling of everyone really wanting to be at work every day.
What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
My goals over the next 12 months are to get to know my team and have a deep understanding of the local community that I work with. This will me make decisions for our service that suit the context and will help us work towards being an exceeding service.
