What led you to a career in the childcare industry?
I truly enjoy working in Early Childhood, I love researching child development and providing children with engaging environments to excel and grow in.

What are your favourite memories within the workspace?
Getting to know the families, children and seeing the team work so positively with one another.

Who Inspires you and why?
Howard Gardner, multiple intelligence’s and education. Howard Gardner’s work around multiple intelligence’s has had a profound impact on thinking and practice in education.

What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about early childhood studies and child development and I strongly believe in making a positive difference in every child’s life. I believe, the first five years of a child’s life make a big impact on their overall development and their future love of learning. As a Service Manager, I really love the role of being able to work alongside, coach and mentor the team as well as maintain a nurturing and supportive environment for all the children, families and educators. I strongly believe that maintaining positive and nurturing environment is key for growth and development for all.

What type of leadership style do you have?
My leadership style is a hands on mentor.

What makes your service such an amazing service?
the friendly, caring and dedicated educators! Also, our fabulous engaging indoor and outdoor environments.

What are your goals for the service over the next 12 months?
Families are the first and most important influence on a child’s development and well-being. In my opinion the best Early Years Learning Programs that I have experiences, are programs with lots of family input. Families are the ones who fully understand their child, their personality and their interests. Joint decision making, shared learning and collaboration are very important to support and guide children to the best possible learning outcomes. As we are still new, we look forward to meeting new children and families and getting to know them. Our goal for the next 12 months will be to connect the families input more within the programs.
