Story House Service Leadership Team

Story House services have a Service Leadership Team (SLT) which is a distributed leadership model. We believe that the SLT model strengthens our Services, creates greater career progression opportunities and enables a stronger, more skilled educator base to support quality outcomes for children and families in the local community.

In the SLT model, the Service Manager will continue to be the most Senior role in the Service and has ultimate responsibility for the Quality and Operational outcomes, it is necessary for the Service Manager to feel supported by strong team members.

The SLT is empowered to lead and showcase their individuality in the context of their own Service community, with the goal of leading, guiding, and continuously improving early childhood practice for their service.

  • Quarterly professional development calendar where Story House-ers are able to select to participate in relevant training opportunities with internal and external industry experts and professionals.
  • Frequent visits from the Quality team to our services.
  • Dedicated Early Childhood Teacher Mentor to assist provisionally Early Childhood Teachers to gain their full registration (VIC).
  • Dedicated program for experienced Early Childhood Teachers to be recognised as Highly Accomplished.
  • Role-based communities of practice for peer-to-peer connection.
  • Dedicated in-service ‘champions’ that support and mentor colleagues.
  • Mental Health First Aid training for Service Managers.
  • The Library; a platform with many self-paced industry leading learning modules.
  • A dedicated Wellbeing and Inclusion Advisor that supports services to support their children.
  • Annual development plans created as apart of our continuous feedback appraisal process.
  • Service Manager development pathway for 2ICs or future leaders.
  • Lead Educator development pathway to support Story House-ers when they step up to a Lead Educator position.
  • Pedagogical Practice Partner development pathway for Educational Leaders to progress their careers.
  • Ability to join our Safety and Wellbeing Committees.
