Early childhood education and care provides the foundation for learning for life.
Let your child’s learning story begin with us
MEET OUR SERVICE MANAGER
My name is Eleni Hayden, I have been working in the education sector for 18 years. I started as an assistant at ABC Childcare when I was 18 years old, staying with the company while I studied to complete my Certificate III in Children’s Services, enjoying my position with children and watching them grow and being involved in their learning.
After completing my Certificate III, I decided to complete my Diploma. I wanted to make changes in children’s learning spaces and have more involvement in their choices and learning. I believe we as educators can reshape a childs way of learning within a learning environment which is not home.
Completing my Diploma, I took on a role as an Assistant in the Kinder Room. This was such an amazing experience watching how learning was introduced and transformed within our room. My passion was to watch children evolve as they took risks to learn through a varity of experiences and learning spaces. This opened up my learning world and what we as teacher could do so much that I was inspired to enroll at University to complete my Bachelor in Early Childhood.
My world changed overnight, when grasping onto a dream that I could change children’s learning spaces and expectations, I decided to open my own Centre in Geelong. I was able to create a learning space of natural spaces and surround myself with educators who had my vision at heart. The first enrolment at the Centre was my first born Sam. Studying and owning a Childcare Centre was a rewarding experience. I was able to have more involvement in the community with other services to help and guide children and educators. I introduced a program to help families and children be included in programs and have the extra help to give them a better understanding of support and inclusion support for their children. Working with Scope and Noah’s Ark, I decided to hold classes for parents, agencies to engage with children and their needs to be included within our service. Working with these support networks we expanded to having meetings with other Service managers in the area, providing me with the opportunity to create learning tools for educators and families within our service and other services.
Expecting another child, I decided to sell the Childcare Centre and focus on family. We moved to the country to raise my two boys on a farm. With a more quiet life, and having another child 13 months later, I found myself with three children on a farm, enjoying the lifestyle, but soon felt the need to be part of children’s learning again. After volunteering at the local kindergarten and church within our community, I was inspired to return to the childcare sector again. Being offered a position within the community to lead the mothers group music & movement sessions, I quickly returned back to working in the community full-time.
I then decided to move to Melbourne to take on a role of the Service Manager of this Centre. I am so excited to work with all the families.
TAILORED LEARNING AND CURRICULUM FOR EACH AGE GROUP
We believe that the value of play is of utmost importance to children as it is their way of learning about their world. While children play they are able to experiement with new ideas, test theories and their understanding of concepts, express their creative ability, release their emotions and share their feelings. While engaging in play children are developing across all domains and creating the building blocks for their future.
We partner with you to provide a safe, quality, family-centred learning environment where every child is respected and nurtured. We continually develop our skills and explore new ways to enrich your child’s early learning experience.
Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of our program. Educators plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for your child in both structured and spontaneous play.
Our programs are inspired by the wisdom and teachings of early childhood theorists and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and aim to develop children’s emotional, social and cognitive intelligence.
The Kindergarten curriculum continues to emphasise play based learning, however offers additional intentional learning times where the focus is on literacy and numeracy, socialisation, self-regulation and independence.
